All Our Finery 2 : Storm Surge Survivors

I am a military spouse, yet my "home" is and always will be South West, Florida. It is where my family remains, my childhood home, and my memories of a very different Florida. This still-life was inspired by what survived and what was destroyed after Hurricane Ian hit South West Florida in 2022: a photo of a photograph, vintage beer cans, and tea cups set up on red cloth. Nostalgic and sad, it is part mourning and part grappling with life in the aftermath of a devastating storm.
