Blaze
This is a piece done in pastel on Suede matt board and mounted onto a cradle board. I first observed this young girl with her skate board one summer and knew I had to paint her. Her story was she had been kicked out of the house and was now living on the streets with her boyfriend. She calls herself "Blaise" but goes by the name "Mad Hatter" on the streets. The flames simulate the transitions she was and is currently going through in life.
