This painting was created from a smaller painting done en plein air in the wetlands near my home. I focused on expressive mark-making to create a sense of waving and movement in the grass and the trees, and ripples in the water. My color palette represents the blazing golden hues from the late afternoon sun contrasted by the cool purples and greens in the shadow areas.
