Pink and Green Delight

Pink and Green Delight
This is soft pastel on UArt 500. I’ve been interested in fun scarves as a way to explore colors, patterns, folds and composition. I had a photo shoot with one of my scarves, rearranging it in all sorts of different ways. This final image is a composite of several different positions that I found appealing, plus a bit of imaginative tweaking that I had to do along the way. I did a very simple green and pink alcohol underpainting to block in where those basic sections might go, and then started drawing in the actual scarf/pattern starting from the swirl and making my way out. Taking a photo with a seven year old iPhone isn’t ideal, but hopefully it captures the details and color well enough!
