Look Up
I started with nupastels, then did most of the painting with various soft pastels. My favorite brands are Girault, Mount Vision, Unison and Terry Ludwig. This painting is part of a series of studies of birch trees. Here in New England, birch trees challenge the artist with their light colors, peeling bark, and delicate leaves. I have always been fascinated by different artists' interpretation of these beautiful trees.
