Day's End, Waiohai
This painting was painted on the last day of a 30-30-30 painting challenge. Being on Kauai, my habit was to sit on Waiohai beach most nights and watch the sunset, photographing those that moved me. This one was subtle in color yet dramatic in the movement of the clouds. It practically painted itself, and I felt a sense of euphoria as I worked on it and tried to capture the essence of that moment without over working it. It was a beautiful way to end the challenge and probably the best piece of the 30!
