Blue Maiden
Blue Maiden is part of a series that I am working on that is inspired by repurposed lost spaces. I became aware of the Maunsell Forts in the Thames Estuary, forts that were built during WWII to defend the United Kingdom. The old constructions that were used for one thing and have become something else such as the forts and old industrial sites like Gas Works Park in Seattle, take on a whole different personality, being resurrected to serve again. I imagine them as proud and self-righteous.
